KFON Pro: Bridging the Digital Divide in Kerala
KFON Pro, developed by LakhdarXP, is a free Android application that provides access to the internet for citizens in Kerala. The program is part of the Kerala Fiber Optic Network (KFON), a project by the Government of Kerala to bridge the digital divide and ensure equal opportunities for all. KFON Pro allows users to connect to the internet via the 2,600 km of optical terrestrial wire (OPGW) and 30,000 km of fully electrical self-supporting (ADSS) optical fiber cables laid by KFON. The program also has a modern Network Operation Center (NOC) at Infopark Kochi and 375 Points of Presence (POPs) at KSEBL Substations across Kerala.
KFON Pro is an essential tool for the 30,000+ connected government organizations and 14,000 economically vulnerable families who receive free internet service through the KFON project. The application is easy to use and provides reliable internet connectivity, ensuring that citizens have access to the internet as a basic right. With KFON Pro, the Government of Kerala's commendable effort towards digital inclusion and equal opportunities is made possible.
